Cooking Assistant -Job Summary
A wholesale lobster distributor based in Newburyport, MA Proudly provide quality live lobsters to wholesalers and retailers throughout the country and the world.
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The Cooking Assistant is a non-exempt position. The position involves “the processing” of lobster meat including weighing, and packaging meat for distribution to various customers.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Butcher, cook, and clean lobster meat.
- Weigh, package and chill meat.
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of kitchen work areas.
- Help with inventory management and stock rotation.
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience in a culinary role or kitchen environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and procedures.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and work collaboratively in a team setting.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to stand for up to 8 hours daily or more as needed.
- Able to work in cold or hot conditions for shift.
Hours:
7:30- 4:00
OT available
Pay: $18.10 – $19.00 per hour
