Reporting to the Hospitality Manager or Site Manager, Cook II’ s prepares, cook, and bake food for residents, staff and visitors in a safe manner according to menus and applicable processes, including diet therapeutic items and special requests while adhering to standardized recipes, production sheets and special lists. Cook II’s ensure all food preparation and handling functions provided by Food Services are completed in a safe and satisfactory manner, in accordance with established standards, processes and quantity controls.
Red Seal or Journeyman Cook preferred. Three to Five years institutional cooking experience. You are knowledgeable and able to implement quality food standards and quantity controls. Food Safety Certificate or equivalent for Alberta employees. Computer skills an asset. Experience working with the elderly is preferred.
You have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal English. You are adaptable, organized and able to develop good working relationships. You have a genuine interest in working with the aged and chronically ill.
Requirements:
- A current and clear Criminal Records Check Form and if applicable a Vulnerable Sector Check that has been obtained no more than 90 calendar days prior to the hire date.
- A tuberculosis screening that has been completed no more than 12 months prior to the hire date.
