About the Opportunity
Our client, a leading integrated energy organization, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Contracts Advisor to join their Calgary-based team. This role is ideal for a contracts professional who thrives in a fast-paced, regulated environment and enjoys partnering with cross-functional teams.
You will be responsible for managing the full contract lifecycle—from drafting and negotiation through execution, compliance, and close-out—while ensuring alignment with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, including service agreements and supply contracts
- Ensure all contracts comply with internal policies, industry standards, and applicable regulations
- Manage the end-to-end contract lifecycle, including renewals, amendments, and terminations
- Collaborate closely with Legal, Procurement, and internal stakeholders to resolve contract-related matters
- Monitor contract performance and ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions
- Conduct contract risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies
- Maintain accurate, well-organized contract records and documentation
- Provide guidance and support to internal teams on contract management best practices
- Resolve contract disputes efficiently and professionally
- Stay informed of changes in laws, regulations, and industry trends affecting contracts and procurement
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, or a related discipline
- 8–10 years of progressive experience in contract management or a related field
- Strong understanding of contract law, compliance requirements, and industry standards
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience with contract management systems and related tools
- Strong attention to detail with proven organizational and prioritization abilities
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team
