DRB is currently hiring a full-time Superintendent in the Prince George region to oversea our commercial project/site operations.
Principal Responsibilities
The Superintendent provides leadership and is responsible for, although not limited to, planning, scheduling, organizing and control of construction projects, coordinating and supervising construction activities of subcontractors and subordinate staff, overseeing day-to-day site activities, purchasing equipment and materials and tracking cost-control and maintaining project budgets. The Superintendent is also responsible for ensuring compliance with safety, health and quality standards, ensuring consistent and fair application of employee policies and procedures, and plays a key role in client service and satisfaction.
Key Results Areas
Safety
The Superintendent must champion and provide leadership that results in a safe work culture, is responsible and accountable for the safety of the crews under his direction and must understand and accept the importance of the role. The Superintendent provides direction, leadership, supports and holds the Foremen responsible and accountable for meeting their responsibilities, goals, commitments and provides the necessary information and leadership in this regard.
This may include
Knowledge and understanding WorkSafe BC requirements
Knowledge, understanding, communicating, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and policies and procedures
Implement safety and quality guidelines
Identifying needs for crew safety training and facilitates delivery of training
Participates in and monitors ‘Safety Tool Box Meetings’
Expedites answers to any technical safety questions
Participates in safety/incident investigations and reviews
Ensures timely responses, actions and corrections to any safety issue
Leadership and Supervision
The Superintendent supervises crews, is accountable for the efficient organization of crews and must understand and consistently apply the company policies and procedures. The Superintendent is required to be involved and supportive of any day-to-day disciplinary decisions and those additional discipline actions deemed appropriate by the Project Manager and/or senior management.

Coordinate manpower as required
Communicating and working with the Foremen to carry out tasks
Supervise staff and provide constructive feedback
Recognizing, addressing and resolving issues/problems among/between crew(s)
Setting and maintaining work standards and outlining behavioural expectations to ensure crew morale and productivity
Applying the company’s corrective action policy where applicable
Applying the principles of workplace respect on site
Ensuring crew compliance with project and company policies and procedures
Planning, Scheduling & Execution
