We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to join our Toronto team. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning and supervising various commercial interior construction projects from start to finish.
Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain regular dialogue with project teams, clients, designers, trades, architects, and various stakeholders to facilitate the efficient coordination of construction activities.
Monitor the legal, contractual, and financial facets of construction projects, proactively addressing potential risks and challenges.
Conduct project estimation, supervise construction tenders, and engage in negotiations.
Formulate, monitor, and present reports on project schedules and expenditures, detecting early indicators and crafting effective strategies to preemptively address or alleviate potential risks.
Construct and guide a robust project team, offering clear guidance, coaching, and support.
Cultivate strong client relationships, aligning construction endeavours with client specifications and identifying prospects for recurring business.
Employ our
project management
software for project initiation, budget projections, RFQs, timesheets, and other related tasks.
Administer all project documentation, including permits, site notifications, and approvals for RFQs and POs. Coordinate final City inspections, secure Building Occupancy permits, and publish Notice of Substantial Performance advertisements.
Supervise project accounting, billings, and receivables.
Lead and document project meetings.
Participate in activities related to business development, fostering business growth by establishing and nurturing strong relationships.
Requirements:
Education
in construction management, architecture, engineering, or a related field.
More than 5 years of
Project Management
experience, with a total of 10 years dedicated to commercial interior construction.
Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, setting an example as a mentor and role model.
Effective at building strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and understanding of construction methodology and processes.
Solid financial acumen and a comprehensive grasp of construction costs.
Capable of identifying areas for improvement and offering constructive suggestions for change.
Adept at recognizing, prioritizing, and mitigating project risks.
Excellent
communication
, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and well-versed in using Sage or other PM software.
