Overview
Construction Project Manager Jobs in Vancouver at FORTE PROJECTS LTD.
About the Team
At Forte Projects, we don’t just build; we deliver excellence. We are a construction management team dedicated to high-performance new builds and major renovations. We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager who blends exceptional organizational strategy with strong leadership to drive projects from initial contract to final client handoff.
As a core management professional at Forte Projects, you will ensure our high standards of execution, budget fidelity, and schedule compliance are seamlessly met across your assigned builds.
Our Core Values: C.A.R.E.
- C – Craft with Pride: We take immense personal ownership of our output. We sweat the details and focus on flawless execution because we stand behind our craftsmanship. Our final presentation and delivery are our signature—always sharp, professional, and unmatched.
- A – Act with Kindness & Integrity: We lead with our moral compass. For us, doing the right thing means treating people with genuine kindness, communicating with radical honesty, and building long-term trust through transparent actions—even when no one is watching.
- R – Relentless Growth: We refuse to stand still. We are obsessed with improving our skills, learning from setbacks, and approaching every challenge with a fierce growth mindset. We push our collective boundaries and lift each other up so that our team and our clients succeed together.
- E – Exceed Expectations: "Good enough" isn’t in our vocabulary. We look for hidden opportunities to add massive value, proactively anticipate client needs, and consistently go above and beyond the brief to delight those we serve.
The Digital Advantage: JobTread
We utilize JobTread, a leading construction management platform, to keep our projects on track and our team connected. As a Project Manager, you will live inside this platform, using it to manage contracts, budget execution, schedules, and communications to ensure everyone stays on the same page.
Your Digital Responsibilities:
- Financial & Contract Management: Utilize JobTread to build precise estimates, issue purchase orders, manage client variations (change orders), and oversee progress invoicing.
- Master Scheduling: Create, update, and manage project schedules within the platform to keep sub-trades and internal teams perfectly aligned.
- Log & Progress Auditing: Regularly monitor daily site logs, progress tracking, and site photos uploaded by Site Supervisors to stay on top of daily milestones and hurdles.
Detailed Responsibilities
Project Governance & Financial Management
- Budget Accountability: Take full ownership of individual project budgets. Track job costing continuously via JobTread to manage expenditures, optimize margins, and prevent scope creep.
- Contract Administration: Manage contract negotiations with specialized trade partners, finalize scopes of work, and ensure proper sub-contract documentation is secured prior to site deployment.
- Client & Stakeholder Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, and engineers. Deliver clear, transparent project updates and proactively guide clients through selections and change orders.
Meeting Facilitation & Communication Leadership
- On-Site & External Coordination: Host and lead critical in-person, on-site project meetings with clients, architects, consultants, and sub-trades to review construction progress, resolve design conflicts, and align project benchmarks.
- Internal Alignment: Facilitate regular in-person team meetings with Site Supervisors, Lead Carpenters, and internal stakeholders to review project performance, track milestones, and ensure operational readiness across all active builds.
Operational Planning & Execution
- Pre-Construction Strategy: Spearhead project planning phases, including securing permits, reviewing architectural blueprints, coordination of material procurement, and staging timelines.
- Site Supervisor Collaboration: Partner closely with Site Supervisors to ensure field personnel and trade crews are safely, effectively, and efficiently scheduled.
- Quality Assurance Monitoring: Conduct routine site visits to ensure structural work and finish details match project drawings and meet our strict standard of unmatched presentation.
Health & Safety Advocacy
- Regulatory Compliance: Collaborate with Site Supervisors to verify that all active projects comply with WorkSafeBC regulations and site-specific safety protocols.
- Culture of Safety: Champion a "Safety First" mindset across all projects, ensuring safety is prioritized over speed during every phase of production.
What You AREN’T Expected to Do
We believe in setting our team up for success, not stress. As a Project Manager, we value your organizational leadership, meaning we protect your focus:
- Micro-Manage Daily Site Labor: You do not need to coordinate daily cleanups, direct general helpers, or run toolbox talks. Field execution and daily site oversight are handled by your Site Supervisors.
- Execute Hands-on Trades Work: Your primary tools are project strategy, numbers, and construction software. You are not expected to frame walls, install trim, or carry materials.
- Work in Isolation: You are part of an integrated management team. You will have direct support from the Construction Manager, administrative staff, and executive leadership to help solve major hurdles.
- Compromise Integrity for Profit: We never expect or allow you to cut safety corners or sacrifice build quality to meet a target budget or accelerated timeline.
Why This Matters
We want you to focus on high-level strategy, smooth client experiences, and flawless project financials. By defining clear boundaries and pairing you with dedicated Site Supervisors, you have the operational space to manage successfully without burning out.
Who You Are
We believe that advanced software workflows can be integrated, but exceptional communication, deep organization, and character cannot.
- The Organized Strategic Thinker: You possess strong project management instincts, an analytical mindset for numbers, and an ability to proactively spot and solve logistical puzzles.
- An Exceptional Communicator: You cultivate calm, clear, and radically honest professional relationships with clients, consultants, and sub-trades alike.
- An Industry Professional: You have a solid background in residential construction or renovation project management in the Vancouver market, alongside a strong understanding of BC Building Codes and local sub-trade networks.
- The Essentials: Proficiency with digital construction management software (JobTread experience is a major asset), a valid Driver’s License, and reliable transportation.
Why Join Us? Your Growth Track
Relentless Growth is how we operate. When you step into a project management role at Forte Projects, your trajectory doesn’t stall. We provide a transparent path for corporate advancement, offering the training, executive support, and institutional resources you need to step into a Senior Project Manager or Construction Manager role as our organization expands.
Ready to build something great and lead projects with pride? We’d love to hear from you.
