Job Overview
Anka Team Constructions Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction Project Lead to manage and deliver Institutional, Commercial, and Industrial (ICI) renovation projects across Ontario.
This role is responsible for end-to-end project execution in the field, including planning, subcontractor coordination, site management, and successful project close-out. Projects include school renovations during tight summer shutdown timelines, as well as other institutional and commercial renovations across remote and regional locations in Ontario.
Candidates must be comfortable with frequent travel (typically 100–400 km from the GTA) and temporary on-site presence for the duration of projects. Accommodation and fuel expenses will be covered by the company for all assigned project travel.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Construction & Planning
- Take full project handover from estimating team, including bid documents, drawings, scope, and subcontractor & supplier pricing.
- Develop a clear understanding of project scope, schedule, and execution requirements.
- Participate in kick-off meetings with owners, consultants, and stakeholders and maintain prompt minutes of meetings and circulate to stakeholders.
- Support pre-construction planning, including constructability review and risk identification.
- Assist in subcontractor selection and procurement of trades and suppliers.
- Coordinate and support permit requirements and approvals where applicable.
- Develop and maintain master project schedule with input from subcontractors.
Site Execution & Project Delivery
- Lead on-site project mobilization and ensure proper setup, signage, and safety compliance
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily site operations and subcontractor activities
- Ensure all work complies with drawings, specifications, and Ontario Occupational Health & Safety requirements
- Maintain strong site logistics to ensure efficient workflow and minimize delays
- Monitor progress against schedule and adjust sequencing as required
- Conduct quality control inspections and manage deficiencies proactively
- Maintain daily site reporting and project documentation
- Identify risks early and implement corrective actions to avoid delays or cost impacts
- Coordinate with internal management on site-related issues and solutions
- Attend regular owner/consultant meetings throughout project duration
Post-Construction & Close-Out
- Manage project close-out including documentation, inspections, and handover requirements
- Ensure all deficiencies are completed and signed off by the client
- Coordinate warranty-related work as required
- Demobilize site upon project completion
Additional Responsibilities
- May be required to conduct site visits for potential bidding and tender opportunities
- Support project understanding during estimating and pre-construction stages when required
Requirements
- Minimum 3–5+ years experience in ICI renovation projects completion.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering and closing ICI projects of a size ($1M to $5M)
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and sequencing
- Experience managing subcontractors across multiple trades
- Knowledge of construction safety standards and OHSA requirements
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively

Pay: $75,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
