Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Construction Laborer to join our team and contribute to a variety of building and renovation projects. This role involves assisting skilled tradespeople and performing physical tasks essential to the successful completion of construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and an interest in the construction industry. Prior experience with hand tools, carpentry, or blueprint reading is a plus but not required, as training will be provided. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop valuable skills across multiple trades including restoration, plumbing, welding, flooring installation, and tile laying.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of construction sites, including clearing debris and setting up safety barriers
- Use hand tools and power tools to perform tasks such as caulking, framing, and basic carpentry
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to support various phases of construction projects
- Support skilled tradespeople with tasks involving plumbing, welding, flooring installation, and tile laying
- Perform demolition work or site cleanup as needed to ensure safety and efficiency
- Assist with restoration projects by preparing surfaces and applying finishing techniques such as painting or caulking
- Follow safety protocols at all times to maintain a secure work environment
- Support the installation of construction components according to schematics and project specifications
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and construction practices; experience in carpentry or blueprint reading is advantageous
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor for extended periods, including lifting heavy materials and standing for long durations
- Willingness to learn new skills across various trades such as plumbing, welding, flooring installation, or tile laying
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
- Reliable transportation is preferred; valid driver’s license is a plus
- Prior experience in construction or related fields is beneficial but not mandatory; training will be provided for all necessary skills
