Construction Laborer/Generalist Jobs in Green Bay, WI at Perret Homes, Inc.
Perret Homes has an immediate job opening for a Construction Laborer/Generalist. We are looking for someone who will be able to grow with our company and is willing to wear many hats. We are hiring for full-time, year-round work. Pay will be based on experience. If you are looking for variety, this is the job for you.
The ideal candidate will have experience in various construction jobs such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, concrete, and other experience related to remodeling or new construction. Good working knowledge of carpentry and construction materials is a must as this position will require the ability to work unsupervised.
This position is full time, 40 hours per week. Hours are typically Mon-Fri 7 AM-3PM. Overtime is possible depending on current workload. Jobs are in the Green Bay/NE WI area.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set and anchor manufactured housing to concrete slab foundation per HUD code.
- Finish installation of manufactured and modular homes (siding, plaster, trim carpentry, paint, flooring).
- Set concrete forms for slab foundations and sidewalks.
- Spread, level, and finish concrete.
- Assist framing structures (garages, porches, decks, knee walls) by using raw materials or pre-constructed items.
- Handling materials and objects to perform general duties.
- Perform any special assignments or projects as requested by team leader, or other members of management.
- Always take responsibility for the care and use of all company-owned equipment.
- Cleaning and preparing job sites.
- Cut, shape and smooth lumber and other material (e.g., concrete, drywall, aluminum, vinyl, foam) according to measurements.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Understanding of basic math
- General understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
- Good physical condition and endurance.
- Able to work at heights utilizing ladders.
- Ability to understand basic written and verbal direction.
- Ability to work in a team setting.
- Proficient in using power and manual equipment, and measurement tools (powered saws, pneumatic nailers, hammers, rulers etc.)
- Ability to measure and calculate the size and quantity of materials needed.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Able and willing to work in all weather conditions.
- Able to lift 40 to 60 lbs.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
- Willingness to always follow safety guidelines.
- Must hold or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment.
Pay: $22.00 – $35.00 per hour
