Concrete Paving Equipment Operator (Heavy Highway Construction)
Concrete Placing Company, Inc. (CPC) is seeking experienced Concrete Paving Equipment Operators to support heavy highway construction projects throughout Idaho and the western United States.
This position is ideal for operators with experience running concrete slipform paving equipment and other heavy construction equipment. We are looking for dependable, safety-focused individuals who take pride in producing high-quality concrete pavement and who are willing to travel as part of a professional paving crew.
Overview
1+ years’ experience operating concrete paving equipment, including concrete slipform pavers, belt placers, texture/cure machines, and other highway paving equipment. Experience operating excavators, dozers, loaders, skid steers, and other heavy construction equipment is a plus.
Operator’s primary responsibilities are for the proper orientation, cleaning, and maintenance of the slipform paving equipment. This is to be accomplished in the safest of manners. Understand all the requirements that produce a quality pavement:
Applicants must be willing to work on remote projects throughout Idaho and surrounding states and perform in a demanding construction environment. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States, possess strong communication skills, demonstrate the ability to stay focused on assigned tasks, work independently when needed, and collaborate effectively with others.
This is a full-time, non-seasonal position. This position will require outside work in all types of environments, weather conditions, and all seasons. Due to the nature of the position, regular and timely attendance is essential and must conform to the company’s hours of operation. Experience with concrete paving operations, slipform paving, highway paving, airport paving, and heavy civil construction is preferred.
Compensation

- Base starting wage of $35.00 per hour
- Davis-Bacon prevailing wage projects paying up to $45.00 per hour (Prevailing wage opportunities can significantly increase total compensation depending on project assignment)
- Pay based on experience, qualifications, and equipment proficiency
- Overtime opportunities available
Travel & Schedule
This is a full-time position supporting heavy highway construction projects throughout Idaho and surrounding states.
- Ability to travel is required
- Overtime opportunities are common during peak construction activities
- Work schedules may include extended hours and six-day work weeks during paving operations
- Most projects last approximately 1–3 months. When travel is required, CPC strives to provide employees with regular opportunities to return home between projects and during extended assignments.
