Meanwhile, by 2030, the world needs 25 million new project managers to replenish retiring professionals and bolster new projects. We think half of these 25 million recruits should be women.

At 12 Million Women we are on a mission to create an exclusive global online community offering role models, tailored education, and formal and informal mentorship, that will inspire 12 million women into the career of project management by 2030, addressing an important worldwide economic need.
THE ROLE – OVERVIEW
The Community & Social Media Manager is in charge of managing and developing the 12 Million Women brand and community. This will be accomplished through a blend of community coordination, online moderation of discussions, and online marketing through social channels. This role will act as the first point of contact within our online community hosted in Circle. This will include content, event coordination, and weekly community bulletins maintaining connection with members.
This role will support community growth both through effective community facilitation and through social marketing campaigns across LinkedIn, Reddit, Instagram and perhaps others.
THE ROLE – CORE DUTIES
- Moderate and administer Circle platform in a manner that cultivates belonging
- Curate content that supports community member learning and growth
- Interact with and support community members in a professional, personable, and timely manner to maintain a vibrant community
- Host and coordinate community events
- Manage and maintain all social media channels
- Design and deploy marketing experiments to define a sustainable marketing strategy
- Develop and populate a social media calendar in collaboration with our Founder

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Is based in Eastern Standard Time within Canada
- Is a Canva wizard
- Has education and experience in social media management with proof of successful growth driven through Instagram, Reddit, and/or LinkedIn
- Demonstrates English written and visual communication skills suited to short-form social media and community content
- Has strong attention to detail and an eye for appealing visual supports
- Presents experience with online communities particularly in scaling and growth
- Is interested in or has experience with project management
- Demonstrates inclusive approaches to moderation and marketing
- Understands the nuances of navigating careers in male dominated industries
- Maintains the utmost integrity and confidentiality in all community interactions and representations
- Possesses solid knowledge of current digital marketing, SEO, and AEO best practices
Bonus points if you have brand development and elaboration experience. Double bonus points if you are fluent in a second language such as French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Swahili, or Arabic.
NOTE: Candidates in other timezones within Canada may be considered as long as working hours that overlap with Europe and African timezones can be accommodated. Relocation assistance and visa sponsorship are not available.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
This role will be successful if we see reasonable conversion metrics compared to advertising spend; minimized churn in community membership; and strong community growth aligned with our expansion plans.
