About the Position
Casual shifts are available five days a week from 08:00 to 16:00, on an as needed basis. Under the direction of the Professional Practice Leader (or designate), the Community Respiratory Therapist (RT) plays a vital role delivering respiratory therapy services across both hospital and community settings. This position focuses on promoting respiratory health while providing comprehensive assessment, education, treatment, and rehabilitation for patients living with respiratory dysfunction.
The Community RT collaborates closely with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to support effective, patient-centered respiratory care. A key component of the role includes communicating and demonstrating hospital- and community-based respiratory procedures to healthcare professionals and students. The Community RT also ensures the safe and effective use of respiratory equipment and specialized procedures to enhance patient outcomes and quality of life.

Qualifications
- Graduation from a recognized program in Respiratory Therapy and two years’ recent experience in pulmonary rehabilitation, asthma education, respiratory home care, home ventilation, home oxygen, and sleep disordered breathing screening, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Successful completion of the Health Professionals Testing Canada (HPTC) Credentialing Exam.
- Eligibility for membership with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) and the British Columbia Society of Respiratory Therapists (BCSRT).
