Commodity Data Entry Analyst Jobs in Onida, SD at Ringneck Energy

POSITION PURPOSE

This position supports the trading, risk, and operations teams by ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of commodity transaction data within the company’s trading and risk management systems. This role is responsible for inputting, validating, and reconciling physical and financial commodity data — including trade details, pricing, volumes, and logistics information — to facilitate accurate reporting, invoicing, and risk analysis. The position ensures data integrity across systems, enabling effective decision-making and compliance with internal controls and external regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

· Accurately input, update, and maintain daily records within Ringneck Energy’s data management systems, ensuring data integrity and consistency.

· Manage shipment logistics within the grain accounting system, coordinating movement of commodities efficiently.

· Support the commodities team by generating, interpreting, and monitoring reports to track inventory levels, positions, and exposure.

· Develop and maintain spreadsheets and analytical tools to improve data accuracy, reporting, and operational decision-making.

· Oversee data entry and inventory tracking for commodities including distillers grains (DDG/WDG), corn oil, corn syrup, and related products to ensure accurate billing and inventory control.

· Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to scale tickets and transactional discrepancies.

· Monitor and manage document workflows within the Cinch Doc Exchange system, identifying and correcting errors to ensure timely processing.

· Assist with grain origination activities and support compliance/reporting related to 45Z initiatives.

· Coordinate logistics for outbound and inbound commodities, including DDG, WDG, syrup, corn oil, and grain.

· Provide ongoing support to the Commodities Manager and Commodities Coordinator as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification: High School/GED

Required Knowledge

& Experience: 13 years experience preferred but not required

Experience with implementing effective QA/QC programs

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required

Knowledge of general accounting practices

Knowledge of general office equipment required

Skills/Abilities: Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong basic business math skills

Strong analytical abilities, problem solving skills, negotiation skills, dispute resolution and ability to overcome obstacles

Manage multiple priorities with efficiency and accuracy

Ability to anticipate needs and accomplish necessary tasks

Strong motivational ability

Self-motivated and able to work independently when needed and also work and communicate with other teams.

Well organized and attentive to detail

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION

Ability to sit for long periods of time. Able to view computer screen for lengths at a time. Must be able to speak and listen clearly. Fine visual acuity to read for accuracy. May be exposed to loud noises, wet and humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic chemicals, extreme hot and cold depending on weather conditions.

PHYSICAL STRENGTH: This job may require lifting of up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Pay: $50,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
