Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced CNC Setter/Operator with a strong aerospace manufacturing background to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC milling and turning equipment utilizing a variety of major CNC control platforms to manufacture high-precision aerospace components.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, program, and operate CNC milling machines, machining centers, and CNC lathes in accordance with engineering drawings and production requirements.
  • Utilize and troubleshoot major CNC control platforms, including Fanuc, Mazak Mazatrol, Mitsubishi, Siemens, Heidenhain, Haas, and Okuma controls.
  • Manufacture high-precision aerospace components while maintaining strict adherence to dimensional, quality, and customer requirements.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, process sheets, and GD&T specifications to determine machining and inspection requirements.
  • Select and install tooling, fixtures, and workholding solutions to optimize machining efficiency and quality.
  • Perform first-off, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring equipment.
  • Monitor machine performance and adjust offsets, tooling, feeds, and speeds as required to maintain quality and productivity.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate setup sheets, inspection records, and production documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve machining processes, reduce cycle times, and minimize waste.
  • Adhere to all company safety, quality, and aerospace regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with assembly, deburring, and other manufacturing activities as required.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years of CNC setup and operation experience in a precision manufacturing environment; aerospace manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience machining aerospace components, including structural, avionics, and tight-tolerance precision parts.
  • Proficiency with major CNC control platforms, including Fanuc, Mazak Mazatrol, Mitsubishi, Siemens, Heidenhain, Haas, and Okuma.
  • Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling selection, cutting parameters, and workholding techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, CAD files, process documentation, and GD&T requirements.
  • Experience machining aerospace materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, and nickel-based alloys.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, and indicators.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks, Mastercam, Fusion 360, or equivalent is considered an asset.
  • Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills related to machining and inspection.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and perform effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Forklift certification, overhead crane experience, and familiarity with AS9100-controlled environments are considered assets.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality aerospace products.

Pay: $25.00-$33.00 per hour
