  • Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented team member for our commercial cabinet manufacturing company to operate our automated material handler and panel saw. This role is responsible for efficiently retrieving, staging, and processing sheet goods to support daily production.

This position plays a critical role in keeping the shop running smoothly by ensuring materials are accurate, accessible, and ready for machining and assembly.

Key Responsibilities

Store TLF Operation

  • Operate the automated material handler to pull, store, and manage sheet goods.
  • Ensure correct materials are selected based on work orders and cut lists.
  • Maintain organized storage locations and proper labeling of materials.
  • Manage inventory levels through precise tracking using warehouse management systems and flag discrepancies.

Panel Saw Operation

  • Operate the panel saw to cut materials according to cut lists for Custom and Solid Surface departments.
  • Verify dimensions, material types, and quantities before cutting.
  • Maintain cut accuracy and minimize waste.
  • Label and stage cut parts for downstream production.

Material Flow & Staging

  • Stage materials for CNC machines, assembly, and other shop operations.
  • Keep material areas clean, organized, and efficient.
  • Coordinate with the Shop Supervisor on daily material needs and priorities.
  • Using forklift to unload and organize incoming sheet goods from semi-trailers into internal and external storage.

Shop Support

  • Maintain awareness of daily production schedules and upcoming material needs.
  • Assist in keeping consistent material flow to prevent bottlenecks.
  • Communicate any material shortages, damage, or issues immediately.

Knowledge & Skills

Preferred Experience

  • Experience operating CNC storage systems, panel saws, or similar equipment.
  • Familiarity with cabinet shop materials (plywood, melamine, laminates, etc.).
  • Basic understanding of cut lists and shop drawings.
  • Competent Forklift operator

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication and teamwork.
  • Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with machinery.
  • Ability to follow processes and safety procedures.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move sheet goods and materials in a shop environment.
  • Standing, bending, and operating machinery throughout the day.

Successful Candidate will

  • Ensure materials are always ready when production needs them.
  • Produce accurate, labeled, and staged cut parts correctly.
  • Minimalize delays caused by material issues.
  • Assist and enhance the overall production flow by positively impacting throughput.

Pay: $20.00 – $24.00 per hour
