We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Manual & Vertical Turning Lathe (VTL) Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and set up manual CNC lathes and vertical turning lathes (VTLs) to produce precision components that meet strict quality standards. Your expertise in machining, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge will be essential to ensure efficient production processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced equipment, including Fanuc controls, and contribute to high-quality manufacturing projects that demand accuracy and attention to detail.
C-B Gear & Machine, Inc. is seeking an experienced CNC and Manual Machinist with Vertical Turning Lathe (VTL) experience to join our growing team. We specialize in the manufacturing and repair of large industrial gears, gearbox components, and precision-machined parts for the oil & gas, power generation, petrochemical, mining, and heavy industrial markets.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC and manual machine tools.
- Set up and operate Vertical Turning Lathes (VTLs) on large components.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Perform machining operations to close tolerances and quality requirements.
- Measure and inspect parts using precision measuring instruments.
- Work with large shafts, housings, gears, and gearbox components.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Assist with process improvements and problem-solving on complex machining jobs.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of machining experience preferred.
- Experience operating CNC and manual lathes, mills, and VTLs.
- Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring equipment.
- Experience machining large industrial components preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Gear manufacturing or gearbox repair experience is a plus.
