Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Machinist and Hydraulic Cylinder Technician to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, operating, and maintaining CNC machines—including lathes and milling machines—to produce precision components for hydraulic cylinders and related equipment. Your expertise in machining, blueprint reading, and hydraulic systems will ensure the highest quality standards are met while supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Duties
- Program, set up, and operate CNC machining equipment such as CNC lathes and milling machines using Semens controls to produce complex hydraulic cylinder components.
- Dissassemble cylinders and reseal and inspect.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other tools to verify dimensions and quality of machined parts.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment, troubleshoot issues related to tooling or machine operation, and implement adjustments to optimize performance.
- Assist with hydraulic cylinder assembly, repair, and testing by applying mechanical knowledge of hydraulics, welding techniques, and power tools.
- Use CAM programming software.
- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols related to machine operation, welding, forklift operation, plastics injection molding processes, and lean manufacturing principles.
Experience
- Proven experience as a CNC machinist with a strong background in CNC programming (Fanuc preferred) and machine setup.
- Hands-on knowledge of hydraulic systems, including troubleshooting hydraulic cylinders and related components.
- Experience working with precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including lean manufacturing practices to improve productivity and reduce waste.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, tooling equipment, forklifts, and other machinery safely.
- Strong math skills for measurements, calculations related to machining tolerances, and process adjustments.
