* About the Job – Cloud Firewall Engineer
* Admiral is seeking talented firewall engineers to join its busy network team. The team is responsible for managing all aspects of virtual and physical appliances on-premises and in the cloud, as well as providing support for IT and business teams with project, support, and change-related activities.
As Admiral undergoes a shift towards cloud computing, the Network Team plays a crucial role in ensuring the security of systems and environments. Automation and self-service are key to success as we strive to improve services for end-users and IT teams.
Experience in managing security appliances through code or tooling would be beneficial for this role. Admiral values expertise in this area as we continue to enhance their security measures and processes.
* Main
Duties
* Our engineers are responsible for a range of day-to-day activities, including facilitating secure
communication
between systems, ensuring appliances are up to date and aligned with industry best practices, and implementing changes as needed.
Engineers serve as subject matter experts for firewall platforms, adhering to IT architectural principles, policies, and best practices.
You will
work closely with the Infosec team, architects, analysts, developers, engineers, and project managers to maintain a secure environment that safeguards Admiral’s systems and data.
Engineers actively identify and implement technical and process improvements to provide customers with an excellent and easily accessible service.
You are
expected to complete your duties within agreed project timelines and service level agreements.
