Position Summary
This is a seasonal position
The Closing Technician plays an integral part in Sunset Lodgings maintenance and customer service operations. The closer role is designed to observe and report the overall condition of managed properties upon guest departure; reporting any findings in a timely manner so proper action can be taken; ensuring homes are safe and secure. The closer will report to the maintenance manager and does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Respond to owners, guests, and staff service requests/concerns in a timely and efficient manner
- Follow and accurately complete the “Daily Closer Checklist” for each property site-visit. (See attached)
- Inspect vacation rental properties, buildings, and grounds for needed maintenance and minor repairs
- Report any maintenance concerns to the Maintenance Manager
- Report any vacation rental issues that may impact stays to the Front Desk.
- At the request of the maintenance manager or designee, perform basic maintenance and/or repairs on privately owned vacation rentals.
- Computer data entry or filling paperwork for department as needed.
- Complete and record work orders from owners and guests to restore properties to rental-ready conditions.
- Assist in moving furniture, unloading, and storing supplies.
- Properly maintain in an organized and uncluttered manner tools, work environment and workshop areas.
- Maintain a daily log of activities and ensure work orders are completed on tasks or projects as needed.
- Maintain vacation rental and master key files and re-key locks when necessary.
- Perform other duties and tasks as requested by management.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move heavier weight necessary at times. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and explosives. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, However, in some instances this job may require work in areas where ear protection is necessary.
