JOB OVERVIEW

The Printing Production Technician is responsible for providing a wide range of digital printing, reprographics, scanning and mail fulfillment services in a satellite operation.

Reporting to the Manager, Variable Print Services, the Print Technician works closely with Production Coordinators ensuring customer jobs are produced meeting quality control standards and within established time lines, load balancing this with walk-in and direct contact customer jobs.

Job Requirements:

•    Secondary school graduation or equivalent.
•    Minimum 2 years’ recent experience (in the last 5 years) using high speed production digital printers in a highly mechanical and computerized environment.
•    Experience using post print production equipment such as punches, cutters, and stitchers.
•    Experience using high speed, platform and large format scanners.
•    Experience using Microsoft Office, intermediate Excel and Word skills; and an understanding of database concepts and digital scanning software.
•    Experience with reprographic software such as Quite Imposing Plus, Adobe Photoshop, In Design and Illustrator.
•    Minimum 2 years recent experience working in a quality assurance role in a highly mechanical and computerized production environment.
•    Experience with print production applications such as FreeFlow, Fiery or similar software.

Preference may be given to applicants with one (1) or more of the following:
•    More years’ experience in one (1) or more of the above experiences

Provisos/Willingness Statements
•    Must be physically fit and capable of lifting boxes up to 30kg.
•    Must have good vision (corrective lenses if required).
•    Must have good hand/eye coordination.
•    Must be able to work unsupervised.
•    This position may require exposures to hazards such as elevated noise levels, dust and mobile equipment in a medium hazard print production centre.
