The Opportunity:
We are recruiting a Clinical Coordinator (Children’s Services)
This is a regular part-time position (21 hours per week between the hours of Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm) based at 737 Woolwich St. Guelph.
Reporting to the Manager, Children’s Services, this role will coordinate the specialized assessment teams including the Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) Diagnostic Team, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) Diagnostic Team, and individual consultation with developmental pediatricians to support children 0-18 in Guelph and Wellington County. This role will ensure that referrals are received and managed in an accurate, timely and complete manner.
The successful incumbent will assist in conducting comprehensive intake interviews to gather relevant information for team assessments in addition to working alongside pediatricians to complete play-based assessments that explore the child’s
communication
, social interaction and imagination. They will also ensure that the community and referral sources are informed about the services provided. They will assist families, childcare centers and schools with follow-up recommendations to gain a better understanding of the diagnosis and impact it may have on the child.
Qualifications:
Degree/diploma in Child Development, Early Childhood
Education
, Family and Child Studies, Psychology, Social Work or relevant health or social science field
Three or more years’ experience working with children with developmental needs and their families
Strong clinical skills to conduct intake and assessments
