Description:
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual therapeutic support to children and youth using developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed approaches
- Deliver direct, relationship-based support in home, school, and community settings
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized behaviour support and skill-building programs
- Coordinate case management and contribute to integrated service planning
- Engage and support families through counselling, education, advocacy, and system navigation
- Complete assessments, care plans, clinical documentation, and discharge summaries in a timely and professional manner
- Collaborate with schools, community agencies, and Ministry-aligned services to ensure coordinated care
- Apply culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and strength-based practices in all aspects of service delivery
Qualifications
- Diploma in Child & Youth Care (CYC) or a related field, or a combination of equivalent education and experience
- Experience providing counselling and therapeutic support to children and youth is an asset
- Experience working with Indigenous children, youth, and families is preferred
- Knowledge of trauma-informed, culturally safe, and strength-based approaches
- Strong counselling, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and occasional weekends, as required
- Travel within the service area to provide community-based support and attend meetings as required
- Valid Class G Driver’s License and reliable access to a vehicle
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Current First Aid/CPR certification, or willingness to obtain
Hours of Work: 36 weekly
