THE ROLE

The Child and Youth Program Supervisor plays an important role, providing quality leisure programs, services and facilities to our military members and their families. You will have a diverse portfolio, supervising, coordinating and managing community recreation programming of all kinds, including school break day camps and special events. You will have the chance to expand your skills, mentor staff and volunteers and help improve the quality of life for military families.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma (or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience).
  • Current CPR and Basic First Aid qualifications.
  • Valid driver’s licence (Province) – asset.
  • Completion of HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development or HIGH FIVE Sport and HIGH FIVE Healthy Minds for Healthy Children by the end of probation.

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience developing and implementing recreational and/or sport activities.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining partnerships.
  • Experience applying policies, procedures and regulations.

COMPETENCIES

Client focus, organisational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.

OTHER INFORMATION

Perform moderate lifting, carrying, pulling and/or pushing (more than 10 lbs/4.5 kg but less than 50 lbs/23 kg). The successful candidate will be required to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check. This is an on‑site position with an assigned work location.
