Join Hull Services as a full-time Child and Youth Care Counsellor, providing essential support in a therapeutic setting for youth dealing with substance abuse. This temporary position spans one year, operating Monday to Friday with rotating shifts.
The Child and Youth Care Counsellor role involves assessing and implementing treatment programs for youth under 18 experiencing withdrawal from substances. You will engage with them in daily life activities, educational opportunities, and therapeutic interventions, all while ensuring a compassionate and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor youth dealing with substance withdrawal symptoms
• Supervise and implement daily living activities
• Participate in structured recreational and therapeutic group activities
• Engage youth in individual and group treatment activities
• Maintain a professional demeanor in all interactions
Requirements:
• Degree or Diploma in Human Services or Social Sciences
• Experience in Therapeutic Campus-Based Care preferred
• Strong counseling skills with high-risk youth
• Knowledge of community resources and mental health
• Valid driver’s license and background checks required
