Weir Marine Engineering currently has a

challenging

opportunity for a Chemistry Lab technician. This position is for a Co-op student (Part-time) with possible full time and is based at the Naval Engineering Test Establishment (NETE) in Montreal (LaSalle), Quebec.

Eligible to obtain a Government of Canada security clearance, which requires Canadian citizenship and 10 years of residence in Canada (MANDATORY).Why choose Weir:

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct testing and analysis of Petroleum, Oil, and Lubricant (POL) samples to ASTM, ISO or CFTO standards in support of NETE Tasks.

Develop, write, and revise Work Instructions (WI) that pertain to the instrumentation being used in the Chemistry Laboratory.

Maintain Chemistry Laboratory equipment and update their respective maintenance records.

Job Knowledge/

Education

and

Qualifications:

Any equivalent combination of

education

and experience will be considered for candidates that have the ability to perform the objectives above.

DEC in one of the sciences or equivalent and currently enrolled in a science field at a University.

Bilingual (English / French) and ability to communicate effectively at all levels with peers, supervisors and clients

Thorough knowledge of standard MS Office software such as Outlook Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and the ability to quickly adapt to new technology and to acquire new technical skills
