We are currently seeking motivated and experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic to work at our Skookumchuk operation. Located in the East Kootenay region of British Columbia,
Canfor’s Skookumchuck site operates a Whole Log Chipping facility that plays a key role in supporting our woodlands operations. The site processes sustainably harvested pulp logs into high-quality wood chips, contributing to Canfor’s low-carbon product portfolio.

This role is a full-time weekday schedule (Monday – Thursday 6:00AM – 4:30PM) Minimum of 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure safety standards are met by following Canfor safe work and lockout procedures
  • Develop strong working relationships with your peers and team
  • Maintain and repair mobile equipment such as;

Qualifications

For this role, you will come equipped with:

  • Experience with hydraulics, electronics and welding
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
