Job Summary:
U Paint I Fire is a ceramic studio in the vibrant community of Kitsilano, in Vancouver, BC. We have been in the business for over 24 years and are growing rapidly. Our customers are very satisfied with our business and we are often seen as a must-go for any locals and tourists who are seeking an activity to do involving art and their creativity.
U Paint I Fire is looking for a full-time or part-time studio assistant to join our team in Vancouver, BC. This position will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day studio operations. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Assisting with the studio setup
Handing and communicating with customers: Providing supplies, giving instructions, offering help
Restocking and managing inventory
Pouring ceramic molds and unloading them
Trimming greenware ceramics
Glazing painted bisque ceramics
Loading the kiln and firing the pieces inside
Packing and locating customers’ finished pieces for pickup
Cleaning the supplies, tables, and floor
Answering the telephone
Operating the cash register
The ideal candidate is a non-smoking self-starter who can work independently, and is maintenance-based: knows which task to do next without needing to be instructed. The ideal candidate must possess all of these qualifications:
Qualifications:
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with a lot of customers inside and around the studio
Must be comfortable working in a team environment
Must be comfortable working with technology (i.e., computers, phones, etc.)
Must have excellent verbal communication skills
Must have the ability to multitask and prioritize duties
Must have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and grow within the company
Must provide a positive attitude and friendly customer service manner, willing to provide to any clients who walk in
Must be reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
Schedule: Part-time, 3 days a week which can be any day between Monday and Saturday, 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
This job becomes available starting April 27th, 2024 and we require this position filled by May 7th.
Previous work in a ceramic studio is an asset but not required. No college or university diploma is required.
