About Us
We are a music academy in Bernardsville, New Jersey (approximately 45 minutes west of NYC), and the premier music school in the region for developing young musical talent (ages 3-18). Directors hold master’s degrees from Juilliard and have extensive experience in international performance. Students have won awards in national and international competitions, and have also gone on to attend top conservatories, including Juilliard, New England Conservatory, Colburn, and others. Advanced students this year are going on a three-concert tour in Italy and Croatia. This is the only music facility of its kind in the area and draws a wide pool of talent.
Seeking
We are seeking a professional musician with the following background to join the faculty of our Academy Division (PART-TIME position):
- Cellist with a minimum of 2 years of experience teaching cello lessons to children (beginner through intermediate levels)
- Suzuki experience highly desirable but not required. Will train.
- MUST RESIDE IN THE NJ/NY/PA AREA.
- Experience preparing students for recitals and competitions.
- Must have strong pedagogical approach and clear communication.
- Part-time position would be at least 1 afternoon/evening per week. Day(s) flexible.
- Highly reliable, independent, and motivating; warm and encouraging personality.
- Studies in cello performance at the college level REQUIRED; no current undergrad students, please.
- High degree of comfort interacting with adults and children.
- Willing to assist with recitals for students.
