Job Overview

Cooks are integral members of the Peake Culinary team and Production department. Tasked with the preparation of high-quality meals, our cooks respect and adhere to our Peake standards of excellence, menu specifications, and meet all food safety and hygiene standards. Major Responsibilities

Works under the direction of the lead Chef to execute meal services and prepare high quality menu items
Assist with creation of new menu ideas when required
Ensures adherence to all Peake culinary, safety, and cleanliness standards
Performs food prep and/or cooks on the line
Ensures proper handling of all food products, including reducing waste
Maintains set standards around Health & Safety including Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulations

Ongoing Expectations and Physical/Mental Demands

This role will require lifting of supplies, equipment, and product
This position requires long periods of standing and moving
Frequent interruptions from other team members while multitasking daily duties
Immediate environment will frequently be noisy and busy
Ongoing exposure to normal kitchen hazards (ovens, sharp objects, slippery surfaces)
Frequent tight deadlines

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week

Education:

Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:

banquet or catering: 1 year (preferred)
Culinary: 3 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred)
