Position Overview

Under the direction of the Front of House Manager, Front of House Assistant Manager, Shift Supervisor or Dual Shift Supervisor, the Bingo Cashier/Server is responsible for adhering to all policies and procedures and making each guest's experience an enjoyable and positive one. The Bingo Cashier/Server is to accurately enter food and beverage items into the POS system, serve food and beverage items to guests in a timely manner, ensure the cleanliness of working area is maintained at all times and all items required at service stations are in place prior to the start of, and end of each shift. The Bingo Cashier/Server must balance sales receipts at the end of each shift and attend meetings and training programs when required. This position involves frequent standing and walking as well as periods of concentration and attention to detail during the course of the shift. The Bingo Cashier/Server is exposed to smoke daily.

Responsibilities Include

  • Provide excellent guest service consistent with Casino's core service standards and brand attributes.
  • Review all daily specials and promotions.
  • Remember menu items, menu prices and hours of operation.
  • Take food and beverage orders from guests and accurately enter items into the POS system.
  • Accurately and efficiently serve food and beverage items to guests.
  • Ensure tables are set, cleared promptly and ready for the next guest.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of working area is maintained at all times.
  • Ensure all items required at service stations are in place prior to the start of, and end of each shift.
  • Balance sales receipts at the end of each shift.
  • Assist the Front of the House Manager and Supervisors with maintaining all front of house inventory control levels to meet business volumes.
  • Ensure all AGLC, casino and other provincial or federally mandated laws, policies and procedures are understood and adhered to at all times.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with all guests, food and beverage staff and other casino departmental staff.
  • Must report to work on time and in a clean uniform.
  • Must maintain proper hygiene and grooming at all times.
  • Communicate to the FOH Manager or Supervisor any issues that may require assistance to remedy.
  • Attend meetings and training programs when required.

Education And Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Alberta SMART ProServe.
  • The successful candidate will have experience in a server and/or cashier capacity working in a fast-paced environment. Specific Casino food and beverage operational experience would be an asset.
  • Preference will be given to applicants who have previous serving experience and working with POS systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required in order to promote maintain and deliver impeccable service standards at all times.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Possess excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills; strong verbal and written communication skills are required as well as attention to detail.
  • Ability to work and thrive in a team-oriented environment and be able to function independently also.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding area and be familiar with a high-volume, fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Must be able to stand or work on feet for long periods of time.
  • Must be aware of and able to work in a smoking environment.
  • May require lifting weight of up to approximately 50 lbs.
