Case Aide, Social Services – Canada Summer Jobs Jobs in Edmonton at Strathcona Place Society
This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program. Applicants must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment, and must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person with refugee protection status. A valid Social Insurance Number is required.
About the Role Strathcona Place Society is a non-profit senior centre in Edmonton serving adults 55+ through recreation, social programs, and outreach services. The Strathcona Place Outreach Team (SPOT) provides community-based social services to seniors in southwest Edmonton, including support navigating government forms, benefits, and community resources, as well as multilingual outreach. The Case Aide will support the outreach social services team under the supervision of a Social Worker.
Responsibilities
- Assist social workers with organizing and maintaining client case files and records
- Help clients complete paperwork, applications, and government benefit forms
- Support scheduling and coordination of client appointments and referrals
- Connect clients with appropriate community resources and services
- Enter client data and case information accurately into databases
- Assist with outreach activities and community events
- Maintain confidentiality of all client information
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising Social Worker
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Empathetic, patient, and non-judgmental approach when working with seniors
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented
- Comfort working with diverse and multicultural populations is an asset
- Second language is an asset (Korean, Cantonese, Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu, or others)
