MJI Building Services is looking to hire Carpenter/Labor to help complete the day-to-day tasks of building projects. The ideal candidate may have prior experience (preferably in the construction industry) and have organizational skills and detailed workmanship, while being self-motivated and the desire to learn.

What you will be doing (job duties):

· Handling day-to-day tasks of building while assisting supervisors in all aspects of the job

· Performing rough and finish carpentry, demolition, building and steel erection, steel fab, insulation, drywall, roofing and job-clean-up

· Must have a positive and “can do” attitude

· Ability to walk, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and work overhead for long periods of time, while performing physical work

· Ability to lift, push or pull heavy items consistently (minimum 50-100 pounds)

· Ability to work independently with little or no supervision

· Physical demands change from day-to-day and jobsite to jobsite

· Ability to work outdoors in variable weather conditions

· Desire to follow job specifications, assist subcontractors, read blueprints, etc.

· Ability to explain, guide, and train as opportunities arise

· Committed to a safe work environment for yourself and others

· The list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary

What you need (requirements but not limited to):

· Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

· Must be dependable and have a strong work ethic

· Ability to operate hand tools and equipment

· Knowledge of basic math skills and how to read a tape measurer

· Being comfortable with heights

· Ability to exercise sound judgment and confidentiality

· Ability to consistently track and record his/her own work hours

· Tactful in their dealings with people using good customer service and interpersonal skills, communicating effectively with coworkers

· Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationship with subcontractors, suppliers, and customers

· Must be able to multi-task and meet deadlines in a face-paced environment

· Work under deadline pressures in an efficient, composed, and calm manner

· Willingness to grow within company

· Willingness to travel and work in job locations – in the state of Wisconsin

· Ability to pass pre-employment screenings

· Ability to pass background & driving record checks

Hours may vary between 6:00 am – 6:00 pm (includes lunch break), Monday through Friday

Working 4 days per week and 8-12 hours per day

Pay: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour
