Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Heavy/Highway Carpenter to join our construction team, specializing in large-scale infrastructure projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on challenging highway, bridge, and heavy civil construction sites. As a Heavy/Highway Carpenter, you will be instrumental in executing complex carpentry tasks that ensure the safety, durability, and quality of our projects. Duties
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute construction plans.
- Install rebar reinforcement for concrete structures, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications and safety standards.
- Construct formwork for concrete pouring, including framing and shaping to achieve precise dimensions and finishes.
- Operate power tools and hand tools safely and efficiently for cutting, shaping, and assembling structural components.
- Perform concrete finishing tasks such as smoothing, sealing, and applying protective coatings to ensure high-quality surfaces.
- Handle heavy lifting and operate heavy equipment safely during site preparation, demolition, or material placement activities.
- Assist with masonry work, metal stud framing, stucco application, roofing installation, and other related renovation tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working on construction sites with a focus on heavy civil or highway projects.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to construction equipment and tools operation.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings with precision.
- Skilled in rebar installation, concrete forming, finishing techniques, and masonry work.
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes and material take-offs is a plus.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to heavy lifting, scaffolding, welding, and equipment operation.
