Full job description
Camp Tamakwa in Algonquin Park is a seeking a pantry l cook for our Summer 2024 camp season and our Fall banquet season.
We are a overnight summer camp hosting approximately 300 campers and 120-150 staff.
The role requires organizational skills, Time management and some knife skill.
During our summer camp season the pantry Team is responsible for organizing side dishes and accompaniments for the 3 meals a day served in our dining halls. As well as organizing a cookout Day in which the campers and councilors will pack food and go out in a canoe to enjoy a dinner over a camp fire.
During the shoulder season in the spring and fall the camp hosts School groups Wedding and corporate events. During this time the pantry l will function as one of the cooking team to execute wonderful Banquets for our guests to enjoy during their stay at the camp.
The successful applicant will have good communication skills and be willing to help out where ever help is needed.
The position includes all meals and Shared accommodation so there is no money to be spent at camp.
The Camp Has a wide variety of activities that staff can enjoy in their off time including wind surfing, paddle boards, inline hockey, basketball, Tennis, clay pottery, archery, Music and film production and the adventure of Algonquin park.
The position will run Approximately June 17-till August 17 with the possibility to extend until October 4
