Position:

The Computer Aided Design (CAD) 3D Plant Designer shall develop and prepare facility layout drawings including process equipment and piping from preliminary concepts, sketches, specification sheets and other design inputs. Summary:

Working with our Process Engineers, you shall be responsible for: 2D/3D plant modelling under supervision of the Project Lead Designer Development of process room layouts, plot plans and architectural plans Identifying and reporting design-related issues On-site verification of drawings as required

Ability to

collect and provide proper site measurements and information as required Assuring compliance with approved design standards to generate quality design Accurate and effective interpretation and utilization of related design documents and drawings prepared by others, from both internal and external resources Participation in Design Review Meetings

Skills:

Strong 2D/3D CAD skills, knowledge of layer management, XREF manipulation, etc. Sound knowledge of CAD design and drafting techniques

Understanding of the design process and other procedures relevant to the production of engineering documents Familiarity with ASME BPE standards considered an asset

Familiarity with the Ontario Building Code (OBC) and other relevant regulatory Codes considered an asset

Requirements:

Post-secondary Diploma or Degree in Design, Mechanical or Architectural Engineering/Technology Minimum 3 years of previous drafting experience

Proficiency with AutoCAD Plant Design Suite or equivalent 3D plant modeling software, Navisworks Suite (Freedom, Simulate, Manage) and Microsoft Office Suite Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills
