One of our manufacturing clients is looking for a Buyer at Niagara Falls, ON region for their facility.
Pay Rate: $75k – $80k
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage sourcing strategies to meet business needs.
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure quality, cost, and delivery targets are met.
- Analyze market trends and supplier performance to make strategic purchasing decisions.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production planning to ensure timely procurement.
- Manage vendor relationships, including performance reviews, audits, and compliance checks.
- Lead cost reduction initiatives through supplier negotiation, alternative sourcing, and process improvements.
- Collaborate with internal departments such as Engineering, Production, and Finance to align procurement strategies.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders and manage the full purchase lifecycle.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
- Resolve supply chain issues such as shortages, delivery delays, or quality discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and government regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in procurement, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of supply chain processes and inventory management.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional certification (e.g., CPP, CPSM, or SCMP) is an asset.
