The Opportunity:
Red River Co-op (RRC) is recruiting for the position of Business Analyst at our home office located at 10 Prairie Way, in Winnipeg. This position reports to the Senior Director, Finance.
Essential responsibilities of the position include the following:
– Prepare monthly expenses analysis and provide timely explanations of variances between actual results and forecasts/budgets.
– Assist the Senior Director, Finance in the annual budgeting process, including assisting the various business units in the creation of the budget and forecasts to meet operational goals.
– Analize and report on the financial impact associated with the key strategic initiatives.
– Maintain and enhance key performance indicators to highlight operational performance.
– Maintain and enhance financial forecasting, budgeting, and operational models.
– Create financial data and financial models to support decision-making.
– Collaboration with operations team to provide financial support where required, including financial analysis to understand the financial implications of ongoing projects, potential opportunities and/or problems experienced.
– Work with finance and accounting in a continuous improvement environment, identify and implement areas for process improvement and increased efficiencies.
– Assist in the implementation of new financial systems.
– Support financial strategic projects and identify areas for improvements, including making recommendations.
– Foster innovation, curiosity, and problem-solving.

About You:
To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:
– Post-secondary education in Commerce or Business.
– Minimum 3 years of accounting and finance experience.
– Advanced level skills in MS Excel are required.
– Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly.
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with diverse groups, managers, and ability to negotiate effectively to manage project deliverables.
