Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic, dependable, and customer-focused Building Materials Retail Associate / Driver to join our team.
In this role, you will be one of the faces of Capital Lumber — assisting customers with building material needs, helping maintain an organized and efficient store environment, and occasionally making deliveries to local job sites using company vehicles.
This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, solving problems, staying busy, and being part of a fast-moving team environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service
- Assist customers in selecting building materials and related products
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system for sales transactions, returns, and payments
- Answer phones and assist customers professionally both in person and over the phone
- Help stock shelves, organize inventory, and maintain a clean retail/store environment
- Assist with merchandising and product displays
- Recommend complementary products and solutions when appropriate
- Load and unload materials safely and efficiently
- Make occasional deliveries to local job sites using company vehicles
- Help support overall yard and store operations as needed
Requirements

- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and sometimes chaotic environment
- Ability to multitask and stay organized
- Familiarity with technology and willingness to learn systems/software
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Comfortable driving trucks and hauling building materials
- General knowledge of building materials is strongly preferred
- Ability to lift and move building materials throughout the day
Additional Information
We currently have a 12′ and 18′ flatbed truck that do not require a CDL. This position may involve occasional “hotshot” deliveries to local job sites and contractors.

Pay: $21.00 – $22.00 per hour
