Full Time, Permanent, Day
37.5 – 40 Hours / Week
SALARY & BENEFITS
$19+ per hour – based on experience

ROLES & RESPOONSIBILITY:
Overall responsibility
Assist Production Department in identifying and controlling pest and disease in the greenhouse.
Key areas of responsibility
Monitor the greenhouse for the presence of pest and disease, record findings.
Check and count biological activity; assist with determining the type and quantities of beneficial biologicals to be introduced.
Prepare, verify and submit a Scouting Report to Grower(s).
Assist with the pollination program.
Collect data required for plant registration and summarize.
Complete and remit all required documentation, spreadsheets and records as required by the Grower(s).
Provide assistance as required to the Production Department.
Assist with reviewing production needs and opportunities for improvement.
Complete other miscellaneous duties as assigned by applicable Manager(s).
Maintain daily communication with Growers, other Biological Scouts and other members of the Production Department, as necessary.
Attendance and participation in all required meetings.
Represent the company in a professional manner at all times.
Maintain confidentiality regarding all projects, property and intellectual property of the company.
Report all discrepancies and breaches of any and all company procedures, protocols and integrity.
Ensure that all functions conform to all Food Safety, Quality Management System and Health and Safety requirements.
Obey all general job training instructions, safe work practices and procedures.

Skills (sets) Required: (include education & experience):
High School Diploma or Equivalent
0 -1 year relevant experience
Knowledge and adaptability with various computer programs (Word, Excel, e-mail, etc.)
Biological Scouting in Greenhouse – 1 year preferred
Growers Pesticide Safety Certification or Agricultural Trained Assistant Certification – training provided by the company
Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
