Position Scope

NACG is looking for a Bench Hand to work in our maintenance facility in Acheson. You must be well‑organized and favor safety above everything else.

Where You’ll Be Working

  • Location:

    Acheson

  • Schedule:

    7 x 7, 11.5 hours, days only*

  • Hourly Rate:
    Between $ per hour (tiered rate system)
  • Overtime After 44 hours in a week or designated day off

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Move tools, materials, parts, components and materials to and from work areas
  • Fuel, greases/lubing and services heavy equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance including but not limited to tire changes and oil filter changes
  • Assist journeyman with minor repairs and maintenance of equipment
  • Wash/clean and prepare heavy equipment
  • Paint & sandblast equipment components
  • Act as a spotter for heavy equipment
  • Provide general clean up and ongoing monitoring and maintenance of work area
  • Teardown of equipment and components
  • Undercarriage rebuilds

What Makes You The ONE

  • Knowledge about maintenance, and a general knowledge of mechanical aspects or equivalent work experience.
  • High school diploma
  • Must have valid class 5 driver’s license
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Always demonstrate safety
  • Be proficient in English, both verbally and written
  • Basic computer literacy/skills.
  • Experience around heavy equipment is an asset.

What’s Next

If you are chosen to move forward in our hiring process, you will be asked to provide the following:

  • Provide a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and a recent Driver’s Abstract
  • Undergo and successfully pass the following pre‑employment testing
  • Breath Alcohol Test
  • Urine Drug Test
  • Fitness-to-Work Assessment
  • Audiometric Testing
  • Vision Screening
  • Criminal Record Check

Once moved into onboarding, the following processes will occur:

  • Will receive a call from NACG to set up all required pre‑employment testing
  • An email will be sent with all required New Hire Paperwork to be filled out
  • After all results and paperwork are received by NACG, candidates will be contacted by us to schedule orientation and confirm your start date and other location (site) specific details.
