Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service while preparing and serving high-quality beverages and food items. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment, ensuring cleanliness and safety standards are maintained, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all customers. Prior experience in the food industry or as a barista is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate. The position offers an opportunity to develop skills in food service, cash handling, and customer engagement.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks using standard recipes and equipment
- Operate POS systems such as Micros POS for order processing and cash handling
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including processing payments and giving change
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area, including coffee machines, counters, and dining spaces
- Ensure food safety standards are followed during food preparation and handling
- Assist customers with menu selections, answer questions about products, and provide excellent customer service
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation during shifts
- Follow food safety protocols and health regulations at all times
- Manage time effectively to serve multiple customers efficiently during busy periods
Experience
- Previous experience as a Barista or in the food service industry is preferred but not required; training will be provided for qualified candidates
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS is advantageous
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse customers
- Basic math skills for cash handling, making change, and managing transactions accurately
- Experience in serving, food preparation, and food safety practices is desirable
- Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
