Bakery Packer – Night Shift Jobs in Sussex at Mrs. Dunster’s (1996) Inc.
In this position of Bakery Packer, the individual would be responsible for packaging various bakery products. They will be trained and educated on lock out procedures and safe practices when it comes to equipment handling as it applies to the job. They will also be trained on WHMIS 2015 and chemicals specific to the ones they would use.
Key Duties and responsibilities
· Ability to work shifts ranging from 8, 10, to 12 hours including nights and weekends.
· Must be dependable and punctual
· Math skills. Must possess basic math skills.
· Physical stamina. Must be able to be on their feet for extended periods while they package and watch the product for quality.
· Physical strength. Maybe required to lift, push or pull racks with products.
· Provide ideas and solutions to help reduce finished costs.
· Identify problems and possible solutions.
· Work in a team setting, bringing ideas to contribute to a continuous improvement mindset
· Ability to learn quickly, pays attention to detail as working with food product.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment as production runs on a schedule.
· Learning the different job duties and steps involved with each stage of production.
· Monitor quality of product and report any quality issues.
· Cleaning of production equipment as needed (this may include sweeping, blowing with air, washing dishes).
· Ensure checklists and all necessary paperwork is maintained and kept up to date and provide data to various reports.
· When trained properly, understand the product flow, and how the raw materials and finished goods relate.
· Adhere to working in compliance with food safety/sanitation/quality standards.
· Upholds and complies with company procedures, standards and policies in all situations including health and safety standards and regulations.
· Make safe secessions and choices for their self and others.
· Follow Best Operating Practices and work in accordance to those BOP’s.
