As the baker at Flip Cafe, you are in charge of making sure our baked goods and menu items are prepared on time and with love.
- We have one oven in the restaurant, so you will be juggling bacon, roasted meats, and baked goods throughout your shift.
- You will have your own space, which you must keep clean.
- Scheduling for this position are very flexible, so I am looking for a self-motivated person with a good sense of time management.
- The restaurant has rotating monthly specials, you will help prepare many of those, and perhaps contribute some ideas if you like!
- Good communication is key because, as I listed before, you have your own space, and make your own hours – but we can never run out of anything.
Summary
As the baker at Flip, you will support kitchen operations by preparing ingredients and assisting with daily baking duties. You will leverage core skills in food preparation, cooking, and food handling to maintain a clean, organized workspace and ensure high-quality baked goods. Your role requires familiarity with baking equipment, kitchen experience, and attentive customer service when needed. Your efforts help us deliver fresh, delicious offerings to our guests.
Qualifications
- experience in food preparation and cooking, with strong pastry/ baking skills
- Knife skills and knowledge of food handling, sanitation, and kitchen safety
- Customer service orientation and ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Kitchen and food production experience; familiarity with bakery and baked goods workflows
- Basic packaging and product presentation skills; keen attention to clean workspace maintenance
- Catering or restaurant experience is a plus; ability to adapt to changing daily prep needs
