About the role
We’re looking for Claims Adjusters to join our growing team.
Location options:
Montreal (2020 boulevard Robert-Bourassa), Laval (600 rue Lucien-Paiement), Quebec City (5700 boulevard des Galeries) or Saint-Hyacinthe (2450 rue Girouard Ouest).
Work schedule:
9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday (35 hours per week). Hybrid work model.
What you’ll do
- Open new claims over the phone with customers, ensuring the situation is handled immediately.
- Interview insureds and/or witnesses to gather their accounts of events.
- Determine whether the claim is covered or not by analyzing the insured’s policy details.
- Analyze the information obtained, make decisions to determine liability and review damage assessments.
- Settle claims fairly and equitably, confirm damage amounts and make payments.
What you bring to the table
- Claims adjuster licence and successful completion of exams.
- Experience in a similar position.
- Strong time‑management skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Qualifications
- Attestation of college studies (AEC) in Insurance or a completed CEGEP or bachelor’s degree. An exception is possible for those with a high school diploma and at least three years of full‑time work experience.
- Excellent customer service skills to reassure and support customers throughout the claims process.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate claims files using judgment and logic.
- Comfortable using different computer systems.
- Ability to adapt to change in a constantly evolving environment.
- Bilingual (English-French). For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required.
Training & Support
- Full‑time paid training provides hands‑on experience in the insurance industry and Intact’s corporate culture.
- Paid, mentored and supported during exam preparation to obtain your claims adjuster licence.
Salary & Benefits
Salary range (not limited to): 50,900 – 62,200 CAD
Annual bonus target based on base salary, potential payout up to double the target. 5% target.

Pension plan offers guaranteed income for life via a defined benefit pension plan.
