As the Associate for Archival Materials and Rare Books, you will provide critical support to researchers while managing the collections under established protocols. Key responsibilities include organizing new acquisitions, creating comprehensive finding aids, and offering reference assistance, both in-person and remotely. You will also be involved in promoting the collections through digital and physical exhibits and performing necessary conservation efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
• Process and accession newly acquired archival materials
• Develop finding aids and catalogue records for easy access
• Provide consultation and guidance on collection usage
• Enforce policies in reading room settings
• Steward conservation actions for delicate book materials
Requirements:
• Degree and archival technician program diploma or equivalent
• Familiarity with cataloguing standards and software
• Strong grasp of preservation rules and practices
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Capability to work independently and effectively
