Assistant Rental Manager — Lucky Penny Event Planning & Rentals
Crested Butte, CO | $29/hour to start

Lucky Penny Event Planning & Rentals is hiring an Assistant Rental Manager to work alongside our Field Manager and support day-to-day operations of our rental fleet, warehouse, and delivery crew.

Duties

  • Work hands-on in the field, managing and directing staff during deliveries, setups, and breakdowns
  • Check rental orders thoroughly before the team leaves the warehouse to make sure everything loaded matches the order
  • Learn to back up and maneuver truck-and-trailer rigs. Within your first week, you’ll be expected to confidently back up a loaded trailer on your own
  • Lead and assist with on-site setup of rental items (tents, furniture, chairs, tableware, and more)
  • Manage breakdown and pickup at the end of events, directing the team to load efficiently and safely
  • Inspect returned items for damage and cleanliness before they’re stored back in the warehouse
  • Keep a sharp eye on detail throughout the whole process, from order checks to final storage, to protect equipment and keep clients happy

Qualifications

  • No prior rental or event industry experience required. Full training provided
  • Must be 21+ years old with a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Comfortable towing and backing up a loaded trailer on mountain roads and tight driveways. You’ll be expected to do this confidently within your first week of training
  • Physically able to lift and carry 50+ lbs repeatedly, stand and move for full shifts, and work outdoors in sun, wind, rain, or cold
  • Comfortable working at altitude and in variable mountain weather conditions
  • Strong attention to detail. Able to catch discrepancies in orders, spot damage on equipment, and notice when something isn’t up to standard
  • Confident directing and coordinating other staff on site, including giving clear instructions under time pressure
  • Professional, customer-facing demeanor. You may interact directly with clients and venue staff during deliveries and pickups
  • Strong problem-solving skills. Able to think on your feet when something doesn’t go as planned on site
  • Reliable and punctual, with the flexibility to work early-morning call times, weekends, and a schedule that shifts week to week based on the event calendar
  • Able to commit to the full season, now through mid-October

Pay: From $29.00 per hour
