We are looking for a reliable, high-energy Assistant Pastry Chef to join our production team. This is a critical, high-volume role designed for a professional who loves the rhythm of industrial-scale baking. You will be training closely under our current lead for the next six weeks, with a clear and rapid trajectory to step into the Lead Pastry Chef position.

We are looking for an energetic powerhouse who can maintain consistency and quality while pushing through high-volume production schedules. We ideally need someone who brings technical skill to the table but values speed, versatility, and the ability to jump in anywhere on the floor to keep the production line moving, but we are willing to invest time and training in the right candidate.

Shift Details:

  • Hours: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
  • Days: Monday – Friday, Saturday’s as needed during holiday season.

Key Responsibilities:

  • High-Volume Production: Execute large-batch recipes with precision and speed, including heavy-duty mixing, high-volume lamination of doughs (croissants/danish), and consistent forming of artisan breads like ciabatta and pie doughs.
  • Process Management: Operate industrial-scale mixers, proofers, and ovens. Maintain an efficient workflow that keeps the production line on schedule.
  • Rapid Skill Acquisition: Master our specific high-volume techniques and recipes quickly to prepare for a swift transition into the Lead Pastry Chef role.
  • Operational Versatility: Beyond pastry, assist in other production areas as needed. We value team members who take ownership of the whole floor and are willing to jump in wherever the bottlenecks are.
  • Quality & Food Safety: Maintain high standards of consistency in a fast-paced environment while adhering to strict food-safe practices and workspace organization.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent lifting, carrying, and handling of bulk ingredients and materials (up to 50 lbs).
  • Constant standing, bending, and repetitive physical movement.
  • Ability to maintain high output levels in a fast-paced, warm production environment.
