Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Assistant Marine Fleet Mechanical Technician located in Nakusp, BC. The role involves performing regular maintenance and mechanical repairs on ferry vessels as part of the marine fleet. The Assistant will assist with troubleshooting, repair, and equipment inspections to ensure safe and efficient vessel operations. Collaboration with other team members and adherence to Transport Canada regulations are key aspects of the position.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Marine Operations, with a strong understanding of boats and maritime environments
- Experience or training in the Navy or marine-related fields
- Familiarity with Transport Canada regulations and training
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a mechanical and operational team
- Mechanical aptitude and experience with routine maintenance and repair tasks
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to work on-site in Nakusp, BC
- A valid driver's license is an asset
- Relevant certifications or vocational training in maritime mechanics is beneficial
