Job Title: Assistant Manager, Human Resources-(Contract for 12 Months)

Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Manager to join our Human Resources team. He/She will play a key role in supporting HR initiatives and programs to ensure the smooth operation of the department and the overall success of the organization. This position requires a strong understanding of HR functions, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. He/She will play a vital role in supporting the HR team and the organization as a whole.

Location: Downton Toronto Office -on site attendance 5 days per week

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Recruitment and Onboarding:

–  Assist in the recruitment process by posting job advertisements, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks.

–  Coordinate new hire orientation sessions and facilitate the onboarding process for new employees.

2. Employee Relations:

–  Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and provide guidance on HR policies and procedures.

–   Assist in resolving employee relations issues and conflicts in a timely and professional manner.

–   Conduct investigations into employee complaints or misconduct as necessary.

3. HR Administration:

–   Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personnel files, HRIS data, and other documentation.

–   Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and programs.

–   Prepare and analyze HR metrics and reports to support decision-making and strategic planning.

4. Training and Development:

–   Coordinate training programs and initiatives to enhance employee skills and knowledge.

–    Assist in identifying training needs and developing training materials and resources.

–    Track employee training participation and effectiveness.

6. Compliance:

–    Ensure compliance with federal employment laws and regulations.

–    Assist in the development and implementation of compliance initiatives and processes.

–   Keep abreast of changes in employment laws and regulations and update policies and procedures accordingly.

7.Payroll processing

–    Process semi monthly payroll via HIRS -ADP

Essential Qualifications

–     Bachelor’s degree in Human resources, Business Administration, or related field.

–     3+ years of experience in human resources roles, with a focus on HR administration and employee relations.

–     Strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and regulations.

–     Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

–     Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

–     Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and HRIS software.

–     Having HR certification is a plus.
