We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Assistant Kitchen Manager to join our dynamic culinary team. Duties
- Assist the Kitchen Manager in supervising daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet high-quality standards.
- Support inventory control efforts by monitoring stock levels, conducting regular audits, and coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries.
- Oversee food safety practices and sanitation procedures to comply with health regulations and maintain a clean working environment.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff on food handling, preparation techniques, POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS, and safety protocols.
- Manage shift schedules, coordinate staffing needs, and ensure proper coverage during busy hours to optimize productivity.
- Handle cash transactions accurately using POS systems, including cash handling procedures and reconciliation at shift end.
- Collaborate with management on budgeting, cost control measures, and menu adjustments to maximize profitability while maintaining quality standards.
- Support catering, banquet, or special event food production as needed to ensure seamless service delivery.
Skills
- Extensive experience in food preparation, cooking, and food production within casual dining or fine dining environments.
- Proficiency with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing and cash handling.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control methods and food safety regulations to ensure compliance and minimize waste.
- Proven leadership skills with experience in staff training, supervision, and team management in a hospitality or restaurant setting.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle guest inquiries professionally and efficiently.
- Experience managing shift operations in quick service or fast-food restaurants; familiarity with restaurant management software is a plus.
- Ability to oversee food handling procedures, maintain cleanliness standards, and uphold health department guidelines.
- Background in hospitality management or culinary arts with previous assistant manager or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
